- understand more about the definition of inclusion and how each province and territory views this process
- write a summary of what inclusion looks like in BC
- recognize how universal design for learning gives all students the opportunity to learn
- know how the attribution theory contributes to classroom inclusion
What did I know before starting the module?
- I knew Canada had policies around inclusion in schools -every child has the right to learn in a public school.
- I knew that inclusion in BC looks like all children attending public schools, but that there are some special programs at public schools that support students with exceptionalities independent of a mainstream classroom. Some students learn in these types of programs, some learn partially in mainstream programs, and some do all of their learning in mainstream classrooms.
- I knew that Universal Design for Learning was a type of adaptation with similarities to differentiation.
- I knew nothing about attribution theory.
