Module 6: Process and Programs - How will you implement what you've learned in the field of education?

After complete Module 6, I feel confident that I can:
-collect a range of data from a variety of sources (observational, attitudinal, conventional, and task-based data) to inform next steps or goals for an IEP
-understand the roles and responsibilities of my colleagues
-invite a student to an IEP meeting
-put together a personal profile and learner's profile for/with a student
-write an entire IEP!

How have I already started using the information from Module 6:
-I have already started implementing what I've learned in another course through Queen's University where I practiced writing a learning profile and an IEP
-I replaced a resource teacher in an IEP meeting this week, leading the meeting and felt comfortable and confident knowing what everything meant
-I worked with caregivers and an SLP to create new goals since past goals were achieved
-When writing in the IEP, I made sure to use I first-person as if the student is saying the words and tried to use the exact words from the student when possible

This course, all of it, has been a great tool for me to review some things I had forgotten. I feel inspired and excited about the possibilities that await now that I have a bit more knowledge and practical skills around participating in the creation of an IEP.
