This module has been the most practical one yet. I didn't realize the link between differentiation and RTI until putting the blog together. Differentiation is something that I will continue to work on. I am already considering ways of changing the classroom environment next year by making more spaces and a greater range of seating with a decluttered classroom.
As for the implementation of RTI, I've already been able to implement a bit of what I've learned. Unfortunately, the disruption of in-school instruction meant I couldn't try some more strategies with the vulnerable learner before moving to Tier 2, which is what I think has to happen. Implementing RTI now that I know the process and what to expect will be less stressful in the future.
Awareness
This video really touched my heart. For people that don't have the opportunity to work closely with people with exceptionalities, they probably have no idea that these people are capable of having relationships that are just as meaningful as people who are neurotypical.
This mother found something her son could do, and someone else that wasn't familiar with autism or teaching was able to help -all he had to do was be openminded and assume that Ivan was capable. He just needed to believe.
I think this is a great reminder. We need to set up our learning opportunities to include learners with exceptional needs and allow them to participate somehow at their level. We need to be openminded, but most of all we need to show kindness and compassion.

Questions I Still Have
- What is the consensus on inclusion in cases where one student's behaviour consistently put another at risk?
- Some teachers use math programs like Jump math that could prove to be really challenging for learners that have learning disabilities, ASD, fine motor challenges (inability to hold a pencil etc.)Would you say math programs like Jump aren't inclusive?
As part of an assignment, I made a brochure for an inclusive school.
